A report has appeared in the Gloucestershire
press about filming taking place at Moreton-in-Marsh,
with American cars parked at the Fire Service College on the outskirts of the
town: Film crews spotted in Cotswolds - and Richard Madden could
be on set - Gloucestershire Live Richard
had lunch with his friend Jeremy Langmead, at the
Wolseley in central London on Tuesday (he posted on IG); so was in the
capital that day. But perhaps they are
‘prepping’, ahead of filming in
Gloucestershire in the near future … |

It seems
that, after a drought, everything ‘lands’
at once … but I’m not complaining!!! |

Richard was spotted filming on Saturday afternoon
(22 May), along with Stanley Tucci, on the south
foreshore of the Thames near Tower Bridge. The original recording is by a lady named Lindi Carrington, whose flat overlooks the foreshore and,
once discovered this morning, was then reposted by a number of fan sites: The video was very difficult to screen shot … so
the ones on the left are courtesy of Miranda Smeets,
one of Richard’s many avid fans: |

And the ones below were taken by
me … this afternoon (Sunday) … 24 hours too late unfortunately; my friend and
I decided to pop down to Tower Hill, as we were in London anyway! I guess the filming must have
taken place to the east of the bridge, as there are solely gardens and City
Hall to the west thereof! |

It’s a shame the fountain in the
foreground isn’t operating at present … but perhaps it’s too windy, which is
always a nightmare when walking past fountains!!! |

I’m finding walking very tiring at present …
probably something to do with putting on three quarters of a stone in recent
months due to the lockdowns. And, of
course, the ageing process too; although I did do almost 15,000 steps today
whilst out and about … Also for the past couple of weeks, wearing a
facemask whilst on the tube is getting increasingly more difficult; in fact
it’s becoming a relief to exit the stations and take a breath of fresh air. ‘And breathe!’ I felt
nauseous this afternoon as I had a headache too, seemingly related to back
and neck pain, and that didn’t help either.
The tube was a bit of a crush on the Circle line, between a number of
stations. However, travelling on Thameslink
is okay, with plenty of room for social distancing. The only issue being regular engineering
works, so one cannot guarantee there will be a train service that doesn’t
include replacement buses. The crews
were out in force this morning, replacing sleepers between Mill Hill and
Kentish Town; the train service wasn’t interrupted, just slower because of
the reduced number of lines! I have
also been known to catch a train from Hatfield instead; fortunately, major
engineering works at Kings Cross are due to end shortly. They are opening up
an old tunnel to provide improvements to the service. |

A guy
named Martin Bamford was walking in Winterfold Forest, Surrey, yesterday and came upon this …
he believes it may be in preparation for filming … of Citadel! The signs are the same style as previously
used in other locations, just a change of colour … they like neon shades of
signage!!! |

Seeing this countryside area, takes me back to
the early seventies when I went on a geography field trip to Surrey. We stayed in nearby Ewhurst,
and visited Guildford and Cranleigh … we also
climbed Box Hill, Leith Hill, Holmbury Hill and
Pitch Hill! Although, technically, we
missed the summit of Holmbury Hill I recall, due to
poor map reading!!! And the strangest thing is, I was only
reminiscing about the field trip a couple of days ago … I went to London today, but the journey wasn’t
straightforward. Engineering works on
the local Thameslink line meant a replacement bus
service between Mill Hill and West Hampstead.
As a result, I decided to take a train from Hatfield to Kings Cross. However, upon arrival at Kings Cross, it
transpired that there were no westbound tube trains on the Piccadilly Line
between there and Northfields. I took
the Victoria and District Line to my destination instead. Then, on
my return journey, I had to wait on the train at Kings Cross for 30 minutes
before it departed, heading to Cambridge via Hatfield. Oh well … research tells me that, next
weekend, my local trains will be running a normal weekend service, without
engineering works! The tube
trains were busier than I’d experienced on two previous visits to London,
during April … but part of the reason may have been because the Piccadilly
Line was out of action. |
