I hope everyone is keeping well, during the
present health crisis. I’m still here, loving Richard with all my heart ...
and hoping that he’s keeping safe and sound at his chosen location. News came through on Friday that the release of
Eternals has been delayed until 12 February 2021 ... the original date having
been 06 November 2020; Marvel’s Black Widow will now take that release
slot. So I guess we will have to wait
a little longer for the first Eternals trailer too. L If Eternals has a UK premiere, it’s going to be
mighty cold in the crowd pens ... perhaps they should rename the movie ‘The Ethermals’!!! I was supposed to be at Aintree yesterday, for
the Grand National, but of course all sport has been abandoned for the
present. I watched the Virtual Grand National yesterday;
although those ‘involved’ in the
race, were complaining that such and such a horse wouldn’t have taken up the
running that early, and others certainly wouldn’t have fallen. Tom Cannon,
who was riding Talkischeap for trainer Alan King,
joked that he’d got the sack because the horse was prominent from the off and
could never have stayed the distance! The race was won by Potters Corner, trained by
Christian Williams in Wales; he won last year’s real Welsh Grand National,
run at the end of December at Chepstow. I won a National yesterday too, the GoRacingGreen Grand National J https://goracinggreen.co.uk/ is an organisation set up by a lady named Debbie, who suffers from anxiety and social phobias and, as a result, has missed out on opportunities, including going to the races. Debbie had been organising the race for a number
of weeks, asking followers to provide names for the 40 runners; with each
name being assigned to a toy horse, not all thoroughbreds. My entry was No.15, Eighteenlettersmax
... being the maximum number of letters/spaces permitted in a racing
thoroughbred’s name; they are all registered and administered by Weatherbys. My virtual trainer was Jo Davis, who is based in
Berkshire, and my horse was ridden by James Davies, son of Hywel Davies who won the race aboard Last Suspect in
1985! I did suggest Choc should be the
jockey at one point ... but that was forgotten by the organiser somewhere
along the way ... sorry Choc!!!
Here is the race itself: And the full finishing order too: https://twitter.com/i/status/1246489974876393473 And I get a trophy too, which will arrive in the
post in due course!!! I attended the Cheltenham Festival, just for Gold
Cup Day this year, as my interests have changed over the past year; although I
still watch horseracing on TV on a very regular basis. I had purchased tickets for both Ladies Day
and Grand National Day at Aintree, plus Sandown Park for the final day of the
season; monies have or will be refunded for these events. It’s not surprising that many caught the
Coronavirus at Cheltenham; those who were in close contact with others. I drove to the racecourse alone and spent
the day alone too, standing at the front of the balcony overlooking the
Winners’ Enclosure. I visited the
ladies loo twice, at the start and end of the day; it was almost deserted. I’m fine. The issue is that Cheltenham wasn’t and couldn’t
be abandoned at such short notice.
Once the competitors and attendees had left home, it was too late;
many travel over from Ireland. The
fixture had to be abandoned for everyone to get their ticket monies refunded.
So it was left for those attending to decide not to go and thus lose their
money. Many stay in the Cheltenham
area too. Racing was being run, behind closed doors, for a
few days following the Festival; obviously this is no longer the case and all
sport has been suspended. And, finally, sending lots of virtual hugs to Richard. Take care and stay safe beautiful man. |
